Artist Statement

Without music, I would feel much less alive. It makes the fun times more fun and the hard times a little easier. Sometimes music speaks to souls, creates a natural high and sometimes just makes people feel free. When I am at a concert, I'm in this place where crowd-surfers are flying from every direction, everyone is drenched in everyone else's sweat and the bass from the speakers is so loud it shakes your entire body. During a show, the music sticks in my head, it gets in my soul and all I can think about is how much I love it and need to share this with everyone.

It only makes sense to combine my obsession with the music world and my gift of photography. It is important to me to share with the world the effort musicians put into their performances and how they connect with their crowds. I want the viewers to feel as if they are experiencing the liveliness of the shows I photograph. In my photographs, I try to capture the artist's personality and the passion they have for their music through a portrait. The life of a musician is soulful, dedicated, and filled with passion and my images are a representation of this lifestyle. Music is real, and I want everyone to hear it, see it, and consume it through my photographs.
